With the candidate process placed on indefinite hold, there is no longer a formal method in place by which the emergency services can to send change intelligence to update the National Address Gazetteer.
Although the emergency services will need to rely on direct contact with local authority custodians in order to make permanent changes in the data, users of the Symphony Bluelight Gazetteer will still be able to instantly override the NLPG/NAG record, and publish this to all systems whilst correspondence with the custodian is on-going.
What this means is whereas before you might have to wait days for your changes to be recognised, now you can do it in seconds.
