Sub-second searching through many systems
Although accurate and up to date location data is essential, and up to 85%
of all data contains an address component, it forms only a small part of the
mass of data contained in departmental systems.
Through the use of adaptor technology,
Symphony Bluelight Search can index,
compress and search a whole variety of
data sources alongside your core address
data.
The most common use for this is to search
a names database, alongside the address
data, giving the user access to both names
and addresses via one search.
The user will have access to huge amounts
of departmental data at the touch of
button as well as a resource by which
different address datasets can be search
simultaneously e.g. ADDRESS-POINT®/NLPG.

The BTP use the multi-gazetteer functionality of Symphony Bluelight Search to access three separate datasets. They use it to search the NLPG for addresses, the Electoral Register for names and their own internal gazetteer for force-specific information.
Once results have been found, they can all be view spatially via the BTP's web based GIS, MapView. Additionally, they have incorporate options to view all occupants listed on the electoral register and an option to view the neighbours of the address.
