Aligned Assets has launched Symphony Suite, a collection of software products that work together seamlessly to provide an enterprise wide solution for Local Authorities working with or intending to create, manage and disseminate their own Street, Land and Property Gazetteers. Symphony Suite will significantly improve opportunities for joined up government and the delivery of services to the public.
BS7666 compliant, Symphony Gazetteer is the central management tool within the suite, the result of over 3 man-years of development and testing running on MS SQL Server. Already in use with a number of Authorities for Gazetteer creation and maintenance it also manages the link to the NLPG hub. Symphony Gazetteer benefits from the experience gained with over 30 different Local Authorities, sports a completely new user interface, comes complete with a dynamic help system and has very low training requirements.
Elsewhere, disparate systems within a Local Authority requiring address information are kept up to date by iExchange, which takes the LLPG address data and delivers it either through XML, e-mail or DTF data exchange. iExchange delivers interoperability, enabling systems from multiple vendors across all council departments such as Council Tax, Street Lighting and Highways to obtain their address updates from a single secure and managed source.
Other products in the suite include an address matching tool that is used to merge addresses from different systems when creating and updating the LLPG. iSearch is a web based tool that can be used by anyone across an intranet or extranet to carry out quick address queries of the centrally managed gazetteer. iPublish is designed to make gazetteer information available to enterprise wide data systems such as those using Oracle
