Currently, if an incident occurs and CCTV footage would help in identifying the perpetrators, provide essential evidence or any number of other things, it is not known whether that footage exists until an officer visits that location and looks.
With SAMS CCTV, the locations of all CCTV cameras can be recorded, from those in public ownership, right down to those in the local corner shop. Whenever a incident occurs, a simple search will identify all CCTV in that vicinity, which can be made visible on your maps.
It then becomes a simple process of contacting the owner of that CCTV asset (which will be recorded in the system) and sending an officer to retrieve it.

Because of the hierarchical structure of the AddressBase data used, CCTV can be recorded against sub properties in large complexes to give pinpoint location accuracy. In places such as hospitals, new records can be created against the existing data to indicate specific corridors, or parts of the building not otherwise identified.
For those properties that are not in the AddressBase, you can enter the easting, northing, height or level for any CCTV asset, which can be used in spatial queries. All address and location data will be held in a BS7666 format so can be exported alongside all AddressBase data.
