Gazetteer Management Software for Streets
The maintenance of the National Street Gazetteer (NSG) is the responsibility of all Local Highway
Authorities (LHAs) who each maintain their own Local Street Gazetteers
(LSG) and Associated Street Data (ASD). iManage NSG enables these LHAs to
fully comply with regulations and allows them to make full use of the data
they have created.
Maintaining an accurate LSG with ASD is
now a fundamental pre-requisite in helping
to attain the new Government targets, as
well as being essential for the maintenance
of all Local Land and Property Gazetteers
(LLPG).

The accurate creation of LSGs are
not only essential to the workings of LHAs,
but are a component part of the NSG.
iManage NSG has a fully integrated and
interactive map window with tools for
drawing, tracing, dividing and merging ESUs
and powerful tools for ASD maintenance
allowing for exact start and end coordinates
or whole road specification.
The most recent development with
iManage NSG has been the release of
ASD Plus, which creates a significant
enhancement to the management of
ASD through comprehensive and flexible
display features, and the addition of Type
64 & Type 65 records entry options.
By using iManage NSG, street gazetteer data can be
given significantly more value, not only
within the creating LHA, but externally to
utility companies, transport executives
and the emergency services. With ever
changing legislation, iManage can always
be relied upon to be fully compliant.

Within iManage NSG, all the information about your selected street is displayed as text and also in its own Map pane. The Administrator may set defaults for each entry when creating new streets in order to speed up the creation process.
Who will use the NSG?
The NSG is useful for anyone with an interest in congestion, capacity planning, street works, accidents, incidents and maintenance. It is useful therefore to utility companies, city planners, transportation firms and the emergency services.
