SAMS is the Symphony Asset Management System and represents a selection of modules all designed to manage and give access to a variety of data associated with addresses.
It is based on the address data of AddressBase Premium, which means the core information is standardised, accurate and sharable.
Why SAMS?
Address data sits at the heart of 80% of all organisational processes whether in the public or the private sector. Accurate, up to date addressing can be provided through the AddressBase products, but those processes require the management of data associated with those addresses.
For the management of property portfolios information about tenancies and survey information is essential, whilst for the police and community safety officers, information relating to CCTV can make the difference in crimes being solved.
Although the majority of address records will be sourced directly from AddressBase Premium, all SAMS products include the option to create your own address records, which will all been created according to BS7666 and therefore compatible with the AddressBase products. These 'local records' can be properties in their own right, or sub properties of an AddressBase record.
All AddressBase Premium records are geocoded and all local records can be given geographical coordinates, which means that all inforamtion contained within SAMS can be accessible via GIS, which give an extra layer of management, analysis and reporting.
