Four people discussing SinglePoint

What is Symphony SinglePoint

Symphony SinglePoint acts as a unique portal through which your entire organisation can access address data. Datasets it can search include:

  • AddressBase Premium

  • AddressBase Plus
  • AddressBase
  • National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG)

  • Postal Address File (PAF)

  • Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG)

Consistent Data through Symphony SinglePoint

With Symphony SinglePoint there is no longer any need to have different departments each maintaining their own address and location data. Not only is it a tremendous waste of manpower, but leads to huge inconsistency in organisational data.

By using web services, Symphony SinglePoint gives all departments access to the same, consistent data and in doing so reduces costs, reduces the risk of errors caused by inconsistent data and ultimately allows you to offer a more efficient and higher level of service to the customer.

How Symphony SinglePoint works

Whatever data you are using Symphony SinglePoint with, the same, simple three step principle applies.

Step 1. Type your query

SinglePoint - Type your query

Simplicity is at the core of Symphony SinglePoint and its, 'google-like' one line search bar allows the user to type any part of the address or combination of address components.

This could include the house number and postcode, just the street or even the UPRN (unique property reference number), and the results will be returned based on this criteria.

It means the user can search on any criteria, which is ideal when address information maybe scarce, but additionally means that results can be easily found using less information.

Step 2. Select your desired result

SinglePoint - Select your desired result

In sub-second time, Symphony SinglePoint will return all results that match your search criteria, intuitively placing the best matches first.

With broad searches e.g. postcode only, it is then a simple process for the user to select their desired result and access the full address data.

(In most searches for house number and postcode or if the search is on UPRN then the user will jump straight through to the results screen.)

Step 3. Your results

SinglePoint - Your result

They are a number of ways to view the results once selected. As standard, Symphony SinglePoint will show the Mailing Address along with the UPRN, USRN, Easting and Northing, all of which can be Copied and Pasted into other applications.
