Xtended Data Module

XDM provides the ability to add extra information to each entry in your address data database, along with making it available to all systems and users.

Benefits

Benefits

The Xtended Data Module is designed to move your gazetteer beyond the confines of BS7666 and enable complete control over the choice of information stored.

By creating user defined fields against each entry in your gazetteer, additional information about that property can be entered using the XDM which can then be made accessible to all systems and users.

Data such as Conservation Areas, Fire Risks, Council tax Bands and Crime and Census Data (amongst others) can be stored in the one system with XDM, not just linked to the property via a cross reference, but to actually sit there, in the database, alongside it. The data can be related either directly to each UPRN or Spatially i.e for Boundary layers.

This results in considerable time saving and goes a long way to avoiding the issues involved when additional training, for additional systems is otherwise required. With only one system the efficiency gains are clear.

Features

Features

Once an XDM database is created from the XDM manager it will allow users to add their own tables and columns. Also, users can create tables via the pre-defined templates which will then create the tables and fields automatically. This will give users complete control over the additional information that is assigned to their records, empowering the data and providing more value from their database.

Bespoke Tables

If the templates aren’t enough, the Xtended Data Module offers users the ability to add their own table and required columns. The XDM manager allows the creation of these tables along with the definition of columns and data type – integer/date etc. As well as the tables, the XDM manager allows users to create lookups, filtered lookups and boundary lookups, further increasing the amount of information to add to your data.

Templates

Templates

We have created a variety of templates for a range of users, including Local Authorities, Emergency Services, as well as Private sector users such as Utility Companies. These provide tables and columns for these industries, containing regularly used information which are commonly added to these users’ data. For example, the Fire Service template contains the option to add whether a property has a thatched roof – information that would not usually be held within the Addressing Data.

All of the templates we provide have an import function, providing ease of use from the start. They also have the option to invoke the MapInfo EasyLoader to upload spatial data to the XDM database.

We currently provide Templates for:

  • Fire
  • Police
  • Ambulance
  • Business Names
  • Water Utilities
