Whether you are implementing a complete system or a specific module from our range of solutions, our experienced Project Managers will be able to provide your organisation with the expertise in ensuring a successful implementation or delivery. Our methodology and approach can be based around PRINCE2 or AGILE, but adapted for ease of deployment and ensure that key objectives are met.

The level of Project Management involvement we can offer will depend on resources available within your organisation, but we are able to adapt the service we provide to best compliment any resources that your organisation has.

Our approach for delivering our solutions is 'process driven', with most project implementations having been documented to high standards, allowing our Project managers to follow these processes to ensure consistent delivery.

PRINCE2 Project Management

PRINCE is an an acronym for PRojects IN Controlled Environments and PRINCE2 is the second version of this project management methodology devised by the UK government. It has proved to be such a popular method that its use has spread beyond the UK and is now implemented in more than 50 other countries.

The advantages of PRINCE2 is that it's designed to structure and anticipate all eventualities that occur over a project's lifecycle, yet remains flexible enough to be tailored to each organisations' needs and requirements. It lays out in detail what is expected at each stage of development, defining not only the goals and activities to be carried out, but the actual roles to be fulfil by each member of the team.

It is the ideal method for organisations that require structure to their project management and is particularly suited, and takes into account, the regulations within the public sector.

AGILE Project Management

Agile is the antithesis of the 'Waterfall' method of project management and is based on collaboration, teamwork and flexibility. It dramatically reduces the level of documentation and embraces the fact that the customer will most likely change their mind due to a new influence on the business or a change of priorities. It does not theorise about what the customer may or may not want.

What happens in Agile Development?

  • The client constantly reviews what is produced and provides feedback.

  • The client’s decisions are made on use of the actual (be it unfinished) system and not on abstract descriptions in a specification.

  • A “production ready” deliverable is produced usually every 3 to 4 weeks for the client to test and comment on. This 3 to 4 weeks phase of development is called a sprint.

  • User requirements are captured often in the form of user stories and are constantly re-prioritised by the client. The high priority ones are the ones that are tackled in next sprint.

  • The client has the right to introduce new requirements or change existing ones throughout the project to cater for changing business requirements and also through their use of the actual software.

  • The client has the right to change their mind on seeing what was previously requested.

  • The important functionality is always built first to ensure that it provides the most and earliest possible ROI to the client. This means if budget runs out, the client still has a working system that does the most important things for them.
