  Interoperability - Definition

Interoperability is the ability of different systems or products to work together without special requirements.

Within gazetteer management, interoperability is important for achieving t-government initiatives and essential to the Emergency Services. Interoperability allows for the data held within Local Land and Property Gazetteers (LLPG) or the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) to be utilised and integrated into other systems.

Interoperability can be achieved through many Symphony Suite products such as iExchange, iMatch and SinglePoint Search.
