Q. After making an edit in Symphony I get a message 'the edit you are making will create invalid data please check..'

 

A. Have a look at the fields you are editing and there should be a red circle. Hold the mouse cursor over this circle and it will display details on what data is invalid. Correct the data error and try to save again.

 

 

Q. IA has notified me that a file has been rejected due to errors or formatting problems. Is this a software problem?

 

A. Review the supplied error report and check the sent files to locate the errors in the submitted file. Making sure the file you have is the same as the one IA received. This can be done with textpad or a similar text editor. If the error looks to be missing information in the submission file then forward the returned error report WITH the file you have submitted and the version number of symphony you are using. This is available from the help about. Please do not just forward the error report as both are needed for evaluation.

Q. After editing for some time I get an error. Unable to run command alter menu... Please contact support.

 

A. Please close Symphony and run Symphony Settings and look for the MapInfo restart option. Check this box and set restarts to 25. restart Symphony.

Q. I have an error - there is an edit lock on Symphony.

 

A. From within Symphony go to the tools menu and select remove all edit locks.
