Landmark Information Group, in partnership with Aligned Assets, has been awarded a contract by Smart DCC to design, build and operate the registration and address components of a new energy supply Central Switching Service (CSS). Led by Ofgem, this programme aims to support next-working-day switching for gas and electricity.
The Switching Programme aims to unlock innovation, create more competitive pressure and improve service and cost outcomes for consumers. The goal is to achieve capability for next-working-day switching for gas and electricity.
Next-working-day switching will be a major achievement, relying heavily on coherent and accurate addressing data. As such, Landmark’s registration solution will utilise Aligned Assets’ software to deliver the most accurate address data available, Ordnance Survey’s AddressBase Premium.
Chris Brackley, Managing Director of Landmark Solutions, Landmark Information Group said: ‘We’re delighted to partner with Aligned Assets, using their software to enable the Centralised Switching Service to match and update addresses against the most accurate addressing system available, Ordnance Survey’s AddressBase Premium.’
‘Having enjoyed a successful partnership with Landmark Solutions on another ongoing national project, we feel confident that together, we can help make this service for consumers a reality. With accurate addressing at the heart of the project, we hope to help the energy market achieve the same business efficiencies enjoyed by our local authority and emergency services customers.’ Dinesh Thanigasalam, Commercial Director, Aligned Assets.
