One of the key challenges for maintaining accurate address data across the whole emergency service is ensuring other users and systems align their address records to the gazetteer. This can be achieved by matching and cleansing against the AddressBase Premium gazetteer using the Unique Property Reference Numbers (UPRNs) to link addresses across all the different systems, such as Command and Control. This is critical for efficiency and fast, accurate deployment of crews to an incident.
If you’re already using our AddressBase Premium gazetteer, Bluelight, our matching and cleansing solution, iMatch, will match against that. If not, then we’d use the AddressBase Premium dataset to match against. Either way, it uses the Unique Property Reference Numbers (UPRNs) to match and cleanse the data, allocating any UPRNs that are missing from the source dataset. By allocating the geo coordinates, it allows any department’s data to be viewed spatially.
Its simple interface is easy to configure and effortless to use, showing the matching status of each record that’s processed.
Our solution can facilitate both automated address matching, and interactive matching when a more manual approach is needed. You can tailor the automated address matching by choosing:
This maximises achieving an automatic match and results in less time and effort spent in manual address matching. As it is rare that one set of matching criteria will cater for every address in your dataset, you can implement multiple matching runs against the data, each with its own set of matching requirements.
Our newly developed iMatch Advanced is an additional capability that will deliver matching at ultimate speed. Developed for a project with national address coverage, it’s capable of matching 50 million addresses in 10 hours, achieving very high levels of matching depending on the quality of data provided.
This ultimate speed is achieved by eliminating any user interface and uses multiple servers to parallel process the matching. This is the product for any large scale, organisation-wide matching needs.
With the remaining unmatched records, iMatch will show in-depth detail on potential matches so you can make an informed choice. This could include:
You just choose the potential match and then accept, ignore, reject or log any issues found. This enables complete control over the quality of data on an address by address basis.
Once a match is complete, simply export the results of the match back to the source system for address cleansing. The match results will contain the UPRN from the match, the matched BS7666 address and the original address from the source system.
Our address matching and cleansing solution can be implemented as a standalone solution or can be integrated with our AddressBase Premium gazetteer. As an integrated solution, the automation between solutions will provide greater efficiency, but either way, after matching and cleansing, you’ll be confident your address data is of the highest quality data.
