With more than 2.5 million address changes in Great Britain every six weeks (GeoPlace), it’s not surprising many organisations’ address data goes fast out-of-date.
But of course, this comes at a cost – incorrect billing, maintenance teams being sent to the wrong place or what could be life-threatening delays in emergency services reaching the right location.
True, accurate address data is a valuable asset to any organisation, providing the foundations for efficiencies across the board. But if you’re sitting on a well-established dataset of millions of addresses that have been recorded in different formats on multiple systems, the task of cleansing can feel overwhelming – particularly when you’re looking at such vast numbers and your time constraints.
50 million matches in 10 hours
As we’re involved in a project with national address coverage, it was necessary for us to further develop our matching and cleansing tool, iMatch, to address this issue. We needed to find a way of achieving the same 85-90% automated matches but at a significantly higher speed.
As a result, our optional bolt-on, iMatch Advanced, was born. It is capable of matching 50 million addresses in 10 hours, achieving the same level of automated matches. This ultimate speed is achieved by eliminating any user interface and uses multiple servers to parallel process the matching.
‘This high-speed matching tool has revolutionised the capability of matching on a mass scale, corporate-wide. Large and complex organisations like the energy and water utilities, local authorities and emergency services can now get their address data fit for purpose with minimal impact on the day-to-day.’ Dinesh Thanigasalam, Commercial Director.
‘As with our regular iMatch product, the automated matching can be tailored to suit your needs, maximising the potential for an automatic match, resulting in less time and effort spent on manual matching.’
