With the Ordnance Survey’s release of free public access to individual Unique Property Reference Numbers (UPRN), the OS AddressBase Premium dataset for organisations outside of the public sector has never been more affordable.
AddressBase Premium is the most comprehensive dataset of streets, properties and their addresses for Great Britain. Updated on a six-weekly cycle, the AddressBase Premium dataset is derived from local government’s NLPG (National Land and Property Gazetteer) as created and maintained by GeoPlace, Ordnance Survey’s OS MasterMap® Address Layer 2 and the Royal Mail’s PAF (Postcode Address File). Adhering to British Standard for addressing BS7666, every property includes its Unique Property Reference Number (UPRN) and for every street its Unique Street Reference Number (USRN). It contains information relating to the full life cycle of a property including its provisional, historic and alternate addresses. Every street has its start and end coordinates as well as regional language description if appropriate, for example Welsh street name. In addition, every property or street is given geographical coordinates, enabling the data to be used within a GIS.
We can supply the Ordnance Survey’s AddressBase Premium data to other organisations either for the whole of the UK or for a specific area, and on a pay per click basis. As experts in this dataset, we can help your organisation understand and use it either within our software products Bluelight, SinglePoint and iExchange or standalone.
